Saturday was Minnesota State's night to break a losing streak, as it snapped a five-game slide with a 3-2 victory over Michigan Tech. The win, erased the bad feelings from Friday night's "embarrassment" (Rylan Galiardi's word).
Galiardi had a goal and an assist, while Eriah Hayes and Kael Mouillierat scored the other MSU goals.
No cushion was safe, though, as Tech's Brett Olson scored twice, once on a 2-on-1 that made it 2-1 with 10 seconds left in the second period, and again on the power play with 3:46 left in regulation.
Minnesota State put a season-high 45 shots on goal, and goalie Phil Cook stopped 30 shots for his fourth win of the season.
